“After gathering several referrals, I entered the interview process for a total tear-off of two layers of wood shingles. A total re-decking. I decided to go with the referral I received from my upholsterer [Kansas City Upholstery – can’t resist mentioning that company also].
Chris Hosch, the owner of The Roofing Man, was extremely helpful, good-humored and patient during the process of deciding what type of product to use and finally the color decision. Chris suggested a Class 4 impact resistant product, which would be a buy-up from Timberline, and to call my insurance agent to see what adjustment there would be on my premium going from wood to that product. It will reduce my premium $353 a year, which may not seem like much, but as I say “it’s better than a poke in the eye”! This day and age, any reduction in coverage is fantastic and Chris was the only person I spoke to who suggested that I call my agent.
I am happy that I went with the Class 4 product because it is more interesting in design and because of visibility of the high front pitch of my roof. The whole project was completed in two days. The Roofing Man team is well-trained and they know what is expected of them. The mess from the tear-off was thoroughly cleaned up and a magnet was run across the yard and driveway to collect any remaining nails.
I am extremely happy with the results and will no longer glance up at a shabby roof with moss and cracked shingles. Shabby is not chic when it comes to a roof! I am now the only house in my immediate area with this type of roof and I know I will receive positive comments. Thanks to Chris and his team!”
